So….this just in: random acts of kindness are super fun. I am having such a blast…who knew? 😉 …And those of you who have decided to participate are beyond fabulous!
* Several clients-turned-friends are donating bags of jackets to kiddo in need (which I am hoping to collect by Monday if anyone else cares to join in the fun!)
* Big*fat* tips have been left to unsuspecting waitstaff
* Items are being collected to distribute at a cancer center (Lauren–I will make sure to get them to you before Thursday:-)
I can not wait to see what you all come up with next!
For today, I wanted to do something just plain old f-u-n. I ran by one of my fave little bakeries, Polka Dot Bakeshop, and purchased 40 cupcakes to be handed out randomly at their counter. (Admittedly, I wanted to stay and be a fly on the wall. I mean, who doesn’t love a cupcake? I have a happy dance that get performed when I have one in my little mitts…maybe I could have witnessed one. But I did ask my friend Kelley to pass along any fun moments.)
Can’t wait to think up some more ideas… Let me know if you can think of any!?! (and don’t forget…drop a blog comment if you do something fun or have an idea..)
Happy fabulous, FRIDAY! (a few iphone pics…because what is a blog post without an image of cupcakes!?!)
I just wanted to let you know that when I stopped in to Polka Dot at lunch, I got one of your free cupcakes, such an awesome and inspiring idea…and great suprise especially since I was deciding between two flavors anyways!! So – happy birthday and thank you for sharing! You have motivated me to share in random acts of kindness as well!
Dear Brooke–I am so glad you enjoyed the cupcake and your comment made my day:-)
Have an awesome weekend! (and let me know if you ‘pay it forward..’:-)
I love your forty random acts of kindness idea! I also really loved the cupcake, well, my 3 year old and I did. Cupcakes are great but surprise free cupcakes taste even better! I am going turning 40 this month and have been a bit meh about it but now I am so excited to do my forty acts of random kindness. Every once in a while I will buy the coffee for the person behind me at the Starbucks drive-thru and my good karma came back to me this past week when I blew a tire in a slightly sketchy part of Charleston and a very, very nice gentleman changed my tire in the rain. I love good people! Is your friend at Polka Dot Kelly F.?
Christy–so happy you got to enjoy the cupcakes. (isnt’ Polka Dot awesome?:-)
Happy 40th Bday to you too! You will have to keep me posted on your ’40 Acts of Kindness’..I cannot wait to hear what you have planned!
And yes…Kelly F.!
I work at polka dot and it was a lot of fun handing out those cupcakes! They brought many smiles to our customers’ faces. I think it will inspire people to be kinder in their day to day lives. Thanks!
Hey there,
I just found you on the DWF so I thought I’d swing by and take a look at your work. I really enjoyed your photos and I love your editing style and feel. I’m a wedding photographer as well (My company is called Mykkah Photography around Washington D.C. / central Virginia) and I can totally appreciate the efforts behind the photos… Keep up the great work!
Best regards,
-Micah
