Sometimes the hardest part of booking a boudoir session isn’t deciding that you want to do it. It’s finding the time and giving yourself permission to make it happen.

For this house manager and nanny, both money and scheduling felt like obstacles. She was in the middle of changing career fields and working 80-hour weeks, so making space for herself wasn’t easy.

Then a friend won a boudoir session and had an amazing experience. Hearing about it gave her the little push she needed to take the leap for herself.

That didn’t mean she wasn’t nervous.

“I was a little nervous, but upon doing the wardrobe session, that went away.”

Being able to talk through her wardrobe and prepare ahead of time helped her feel more comfortable before she ever stepped in front of the camera. She didn’t have to arrive with everything figured out. She had support before the session even began.

And once session day arrived, those nerves turned into something completely different.

“I felt so comfortable, beautiful and courageous.”

We love the word courageous because booking a boudoir session can feel like a brave choice, especially when life is already full and you’re used to focusing on your work and the people around you.

The day also came with a few surprises.

“The heels. They were so tall. 🤣”

Sometimes it’s the little moments that make the experience even more memorable. There’s room to laugh, try something new, and wear whatever makes you feel good. You don’t need to pretend to be someone else or push yourself into anything that doesn’t feel comfortable.

Another part of the experience that stood out to her was seeing herself with professionally done makeup.

“I’ve never had my makeup done like that. It was so beautiful!”

There’s something special about being cared for and seeing yourself in a way you may not get to experience every day. It isn’t about changing who you are. It’s about bringing out a side of you that may not always get the attention it deserves.

When we asked why she would recommend booking a session with Bluesky Studios, her answer came back to the experience itself.

“It was such a great thing to do for me. Sure, my partners will benefit, but it was for me. Sometimes we need a reminder that our inside beauty shines to the outside too.”

That part matters.

Your images can be shared with a partner, but the experience doesn’t have to begin with anyone else. It can simply be something you choose because you want to feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated.

For anyone who feels too shy or nervous to book, she wants you to know that you remain in control throughout your session.

“It’s an intimate session, just you and the photographer. There’s no pressure to do things you aren’t comfortable with. You can wear what you feel good in.”

You don’t have to arrive feeling completely confident. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do in front of the camera. You just need to give yourself the chance to experience it.

Her advice?

“Do it! You deserve to feel good about yourself. These women help make that happen!”

By the end of the day, what started as something difficult to fit into her schedule became an experience she couldn’t wait to tell her friends about.

“This was a wonderful experience, and I am going to refer all my friends! Thank you for going above and beyond in making me feel comfortable!”
