For many women, the hardest part of booking a boudoir session isn’t the lingerie or the poses.
It’s the fear of feeling awkward.
For this amazing veterinary technician, that was her biggest concern. She wanted to do something for herself—to build her confidence, feel beautiful, and step outside of her comfort zone.
But she wasn’t sure how comfortable she’d actually feel once the camera came out.

Nervous, Excited, and Ready to Do Something for Herself
Before her session, she was feeling a familiar combination:
Nervous.
Excited.
And probably wondering what she’d gotten herself into.
But sometimes the best experiences begin with a little bit of uncertainty.
She knew she wanted something that was just for her. Something that would remind her that she deserves to feel pretty, confident, and celebrated.
So she took the leap.
And Then Everything Just Clicked
The biggest surprise?
How comfortable she felt once the session started.
“Amazing. Ellie did such a wonderful job making me feel comfortable and in the zone.”
That comfort is everything.
Instead of worrying about whether she was doing things “right,” she was able to relax, trust the process, and get into the experience.
And that’s exactly what boudoir should be.
Not a performance.
Not something you have to be naturally good at.
Just an opportunity to be yourself and have a little fun.

She Got Exactly What She Hoped For
Going into the session, she had high expectations.
And somehow, the experience still exceeded them.
“It was everything I wanted after setting high expectations.”
One thing that really stood out to her was the amount of effort that goes into creating the experience—especially the sets.
“How much effort Ellie puts into her sets.”
Because the magic of a boudoir session isn’t just what happens in front of the camera. It’s the little details that make the entire day feel special.
“Do It!”
Her advice to women who are still sitting on the fence?
“Do it!!”
Simple.
Direct.
And completely in line with what so many women discover after stepping outside their comfort zone.
If you’re shy, nervous, or worried you’ll feel awkward, you’re not alone.
But you also don’t have to let those feelings stop you.
Every Woman Deserves to Feel This Way at Least Once
When asked what she would tell someone who doesn’t think she can handle a boudoir session because she’s too shy or nervous, her answer was just as straightforward:
“Don’t be shy. Every woman should do it at least once.”
And while she wasn’t ready to answer how the session changed the way she sees her beauty until she sees her final images, there’s already something powerful in what she experienced.
She showed up for herself.
She faced the awkwardness she was afraid of.
She stepped outside her comfort zone.
And she allowed herself to be cared for and celebrated.

More Than Just a Photoshoot
From hair and makeup to the session itself, she described the Bluesky Studios team as “the most amazing group of people to work with.”
And that’s what we’re all about.
Creating an experience where you can walk through the door nervous and unsure—and leave feeling like you just did something incredible for yourself.
You don’t have to know how to pose.
You don’t have to feel confident beforehand.
You don’t have to know exactly what you’re doing.
You just have to be willing to take the first step.
Because sometimes, confidence doesn’t come before you do the hard thing.
Sometimes, confidence is what you discover because you did it. ❤️
