Olivia and Chip only had three weeks to get to know each other before Olivia was off to
Australia for a study abroad program, but once these two went on one date they knew it was
meant to be. Their love continued to grow and become stronger as the they overcame distance
and multiple moves. After three years of dating, Chip asked Olivia to be his wife at Longwood
Gardens in Philadelphia and they began planning in the place where they first met, North
Carolina.

The couple knew from the beginning they enjoyed the traditional and formal feeling of
weddings that they attended together. They were also inspired by the winter season and chose
romantic greenery and white flowers. Olivia used a watercolor calligraphy technique to address
her envelopes and create place cards. The DIY-ing continued right up until the eve of the
wedding with Olivia, her mom and sisters creating signs for the reception. This turned into one
of many fond memories she has of the weekend.

Chip and Olivia’s big day did not go entirely as planned with the couple waking up to 6 inches of
snow on the ground, which in the south means the world stops! Some of their guests were not
able to make it to their big day, but luckily several of them made the trek to celebrate. Some of
the couple’s favorite moments from the day were the ones they were able to steal with just the
two of them. One piece of advice the couple has for engaged couples is, When wedding week
comes, just stop with the planning and relax and have fun!
