A few years ago, in search of a way to both ‘network’ with trusted peers and as an attempt to create a highly vetted list of the best Charlotte wedding professionals so couples could more easily identify true/trusted pros…I launched Charlotte Wedding Bosses.
Its been a bit of a ‘slow burner’ in both getting the ‘right’ folks involved as well as have such talented folks have the time to invest in meeting/keeping a private Facebook going. (As well as how to best get the word out to couples searching for Charlotte wedding photographers, planners, bakers, floral designers , etc. )
–However, I am happy to say I think we are ‘getting there and seeing the beginnings of true camaraderie , collaboration and growth.
Nicole Daniels, (Director of Sales and Events for Sullivans) Tina Sheets, (from A Simple Affair) and I collaborated and knew we really want a bit of glam…but still lots of fun. So we channeled a classic cocktail vibe for a Mad Men-Inspired fete.
‘Mad About 2017’ allowed our bosses a chance to play a little dress up at my studio, Bungalow 1325 (with AMAZING 1960’s-inspired looks provided by (2) talented hair and make-up teams: Cali Stott Artistry and Beauty Asylum Charlotte. Think Bridget Bardot hair and lots, and lots of winged liner. )
We then all headed to Sullivan’s Steakhouse for amazing bites with a nod to the cocktail parties of decades gone by–complete with classic shrimp cocktail — in teeny, martini glasses, naturally. Mini meatballs, Philly steak ‘egg rolls,’ 5-cheese mac and cheese to name a few.
You all know a party is not a party without cocktails in my book! So, local Charlotte distillers, Doc Porter’s provided the ‘shaken and stirred’ in the way of Manhattan’s and Dirty Martinis.
….glasses clicks and laughter (lots-of-loud-laughter) filled the room as friends old and knew connected…and much to several peoples chagrin–we even did a group photo;-)
Charlotte really does have some of the most talented (and hilarious–see pics below) wedding professionals and I consider myself so lucky to be able to surround myself with them as we all MEET. SHARE. REFER and GROW.
HUGE thanks to all of the bosses who took time out to share in and night together…with extra big thanks to the amazing people who put brought their A-game to make a fab night out for us wedding pros who are more accustomed to being behind the scenes: (listed below images along with FULL image gallery)
