The Knot Magazine Charlotte Market Mixer
You had me at ‘Mad Men-Meets-Palm-Springs.’
When the Knot magazine reached out to determine if I would be interested in photographing their Charlotte Market Mixer (A swank little party they would be throwing with the assistance of some of Charlotte best wedding professionals.) I reached out to the lead planner they had selected for the job (Sarah Beth Tie of We Tie The Knots) to get more details and determine if the event would be a ‘fit.’
…. and when she shared the inspiration board of a vintage cocktail party dripping in elements of gold, green and pops of yellow –Think mod style with bold, graphic patterns, (more interior designed-inspired than traditional ‘wedding’) Complete with palm fronds and Mai Tai’s (I mean, MAI TAI’s you guys!!)
…of course I said yes!
So on Tuesday morning some of Charlotte finest wedding pros who were selected to participate gathered to create some magic as 220 North Tryon at Foundation for the Carolinas Solarium transformed into Palm Springs! (We even had the 90+ degree temps and humidity 😉 While Cali Stott Artistry readied our model/bride for Corrie and I to photograph before the guests arrived.
Here are a few behind the scenes:
Sweet Sarah Beth from We Tie the Knots and Lauren from Elle Dee designs (draped in fronds..) at set up
The We Ties the Knots ladies pre-gaming
The talented Cali Stott giving smokey eyes and pin curls
SB getting curls and getting shiz done! lol
Team Lily Green Thumb caught in the act of operation ‘rose logo’ 😉
This is me…(caught by my studio manger/second photographer, Corrie) …apparently dress fluffing is serious business ya’ll
At 6PM…Charlotte wedding professional dressed in their finest breezy and brights began to file in! (I am still trying to get my hands on that drapey floral number Aisha Thomas of Aisha Thomas events rolled up in;-)
As you entered the space, you were greeted with the sounds of smooth Jazz by Jazz Revolution and served a MAI TAI by a bow tie-clad bartenders from Bartenders Plus.
Delish small bites were passed and guests were encouraged to stop by each of the 3 ‘cabanas’ which provided more tasty treats from Flipside Catering and Best Impressions catering. (who made quite the presentation with tufts of ‘smoke’ encircling its hamachi via liquid nitrogen;-) (pictured below)
As the sun set and cocktails flowed–Split Second Sound turned the tunes more upbeat and when I finally shut down (an hour AFTER the end time of of the event..) …it was still going strong! (check out a few of my fave images from the night below)
Big thanks to all of the A-List Charlotte Wedding Pros (listed below the images) who volunteered their time and talents to allow the Charlotte wedding an industry a night of fun!
