I asked Brittany and Jamie to share a little bit about themselves, their love story, advice for future brides, etc.Enjoy!
“Jamie and I met about 4 years ago. We were neighbors in the same condo building. We met while walking our dogs, Grace and Rambo. We became part of a big circle of neighbor friends that all had dogs and would have cookouts on weekends and let all our dogs play. We started casually hanging out together in Spring 2012. We officially started Dating in October 2012 on a camping trip. He proposed one week after our 2 year anniversary on Nov 1 2014. We were staying in a cabin near asheville. We had gone hiking that day to a couple waterfalls. At the bottom of the second waterfall, on top of a large rock overlooking the pool, he got down on one knee. It was snowing and all the surrounding fallen leaves made the scene absolutely breathtaking. It was perfect. We got married on Friday the 13th, for fun (we loved when people said “you would do that” or “you’ve got to be joking”) and because 13 is a lucky number in his family. Even though it rained, we got kicked out of the park, and 3 peoples car broke down before the wedding, it was a perfect day too.
We both love our dogs, camping, hiking, being outdoors, traveling, and fitness. Jamie loves his jeep (can you tell?)
My advice to brides: Don’t fret. Take it all slow, take it all in. Your wedding is over in the blink of an eye (especially the actual wedding day). The little things that might seem like a big deal…no one else knows they happened and they make for good stories after the fact. Take lots of pictures, enjoy every second, make lots of memories!
