From the bride:
I grew up just miles from Stoneleigh; it had always been my dream wedding site. When I would envision our wedding day, I wanted to have everyone that had impacted our lives, our closest friends and families, together and have the biggest, best party we could have. We have been together for 12 years (since the age of 15 – high school sweethearts) and waited almost 3 years to get married because of college. My wedding was made possible because of my family. Every detail and aspect for the most part, happened because of them. All decorations centerpieces, table numbers, seating chart, candy table made by myself, Mom, and family. Chalkboard sign at candle table, table number seating chart, and large program- all mirrors/pictures I purchased at thrift store and painted with chalkboard paint/spray paint. Old Window frame for Memory Board found in aunts back yard, mason jar found in families old barn. Dad and sister built the rustic wooden boxes from the remaining wood of our 30 year old porch. Ring bearer pillow and flower girl basket hand made by my Mom. The flowers were done by my cousin, signs hand painted by great uncle, cupcakes, cookies by Aunt and Grandma. Hair done by Aunt- Christa Via. Live Karoake band dressed 80’s style that included in the band-guitarist Uncle, drummer-cousin. My colors where orange and grey. I purchased all the “orange” Mums a month in advance before they had bloomed. They were labeled with an orange dot on the pot and an insert that said “Orange Mums.” When they bloomed 3 weeks later they were all yellow. My late grandmother loooved yellow and felt like they were meant to be, felt like she was there with us that day. They were absolutely gorgeous. An unfortunate event happened the week of my wedding, my 47 year old Aunt passed away unexpectedly three days before my wedding (lady in center of memory board). It was a roller-coaster of emotions that week but somehow that day was the most magical, happiest day for everyone. I feared it would be sad and emotional for us but it was opposite-almost surreal how the positive and happy spirits flowed.

DIY Projects: Program board (old picture bought from Salvation Army painted with chalk board paint and information written), Memory board (Old window frame from aunts back yard), Table Number List (old mirror painted with chalk board paint, names printed by home computer onto burlap), table numbers (Dollies with glued number on front), table number holder (old corks hot glued with twine tied around them), “L” at entrance with picture of us (cut L out of cardboard and wrapped with twine, Chalk board at candy table (painted old mirror), Mom handmade flower girl and ring bearer pillow, rustic boxes handmade by Dad and sister from old porch wood, “Happiness is marrying your best friend frame”: Wood from leftover porch wood, Dad built frame, great uncle painted. All flower pots, lanterns, wreaths, tin buckets were refurbished and reused from friends weddings.

Cocktail hour drinks: Grooms favorite “Rude Boys”-Bourbon and Coke, Brides favorite-Red Apple Sangria.
Food: Cocktail hour.. shrimp shooters and cucumber sandwiches. Dinner: Southern themed… Fried/baked chicken, beef tips and rice.. green beans, red potatoes, mac and cheese.
Cake: Favorite cup cakes from Aunt Wanda and favorite chocolate chip cookies from Grandma Riedl.. and basic wedding cake from friend Martha
