Leanna and Nathan – Wedding – Boone, NC

From the bride:
I really wanted a relaxed, classic atmosphere that had some fun in it too! I wanted a low key evening that everyone would enjoy. The wedding was at my parents home, which had been my mother’s childhood home. I timed it so that the ceremony would get plenty of sun, and the dinner after would have that soft dusk light that would make the lighting we used give it an ethereal feel. We took regular Christmas lights and wrapped them around tree trunks. The ceiling in the small room where the buffet was had not been finished by the time the wedding came, so my sister and I took white sheets and draped them across the ceiling, then put Christmas lights strung across. To top that off we used gold glitter tulle tacked across the lights. It really gave it a warm glow and looked perfect in the evening light. My mom did all of the floral arrangements, with the exception of two large ones, that my mother-in-law did. My mom used all the flowers from her garden to do all the arrangements. The wedding was very small, with just family so everything except the food was done by family members who all pitched in to help make my wedding day the best. I should probably mention that mother-in-law has a wedding business and does flowers and decorations for many weddings in and out of the area, so we did have some inside pro help!
