Wow! Exhilarated. Exhausted. And definitely playing a whole lot of catch up after 2 weeks of what my friends are referring to as my ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ trip. Ha. (What an awesome book, right?) SO much to say but I think I need to just sit back, reflect a bit and take it all in. (and, of course, edit, place orders, schedule sessions…promise!) But I feel as though I just have to chat up at least some of the super fun, super useful bits from this fantastic journey.
That said, let me start at the beginning of my 2-week adventure with the promise of more details to follow soon. Napa=gorgeous, calming and the home of the 1st Annual National Association of Professional Child Photographer’s Retreat! 3-days of lectures, vendors, shooting clinics but above all else…a great, great place to meet and idea-share with like-minded, passionate photographers! (Parents: if you are not familiar with NAPCP–it is a great resource on many topics, including choosing a child photographer, creating true heirlooms with your images and how to prepare for a successful session. –It also provides detailed contact information on talented photographers in your area!) I learned a ton, have come up with some great new ideas that wil begin to trickle out to all of you soon. (including beautiful, new canvas collections, updated websites, fully-designed library bound session albums, birthday party ‘photo booths/fashion shoots’…just to give you a few ‘teasers..:-)
We are still trying to get back on track this week as we had so many session right before the trip but please know we will get everything back up-and-running to ‘full-speed’ soon. (we are even getting some more ‘help’ around here to free us up to shoot more!) And until the next post… here are a few of our favorite images from the shooting clinic in the Meritage vineyard…
I love the use of natural light. It truly is gorgeous!
You captured some amazing shots, Cassandra! I know the parents will love these…
I’m so glad we had the opportunity to hang out at the Retreat. You are an amazing person.
Love these Cass….so glad you were able to take this trip and broaden your horizons ; )
Loving these shots- at least you had sunny days for awesome photos (a strange overcast has been looming- weird for summer). Absolutely stunning though and sounds like the retreat was loaded with info!
Beautiful photos, love the light and the blues in the tree!
